TWI in the Real World of Healthcare

Session Abstract:

This session will include examples of how TWI: JI and JR are being used on one of the nation’s largest not for profit healthcare systems.  It will demonstrate the great need for TWI within the healthcare system.

Please join us as we present a creative way to use TWI JI in order to meet the needs of the patients; showing how it was used by a multi-disciplinary team to roll out a specific job.  It will take you through a process that has been initiated hospital wide in order to provide better care for our patients and decrease the number of hospital re-admissions.

About the Presenters:

Brandy Waldrop is a Nursing Director for CCU/PCU and manager of CCU at Baptist Memorial Hospital, where she is also a JI and JR instructor and assists with implementation throughout the facility to provide quality care and process improvements.

Sandy Holman manages the Emergency Room Department at Baptist Memorial Hospital.  She serves as a JI and JR instructor in the Baptist system including implementing JI and JR at her facility.  She identifies inefficiencies and implements strategies to improve quality using the JI method.  She also uses JR to create good relationships with her employees to provide the best possible working environment for her employees.
